4th of July

So, I feel pretty sappy when I'm at a parade and start to choke up when the veterans and soldiers pass by, but I think it's more pride than being sappy. I am so proud to live in a free country and I am grateful for all the soldiers that have protected our freedom. My Grandpa's were both in WWII and my Dad was in the Navy. I wish I knew more about what they did, but I never had the chance to talk to them about it. I am especially grateful to them.

We went to the parade on Monday with the kids. Bryn and Emmy had a great time snuggling with Aunt Cally and eating all the treats! Maddy stayed as far away from us as possible and sat with her cousin. We ended the day at a neighborhood party where the kids jumped on the trampoline, swam in the big pool, and played with their new friends! We had a great big firework show out on the street and went to bed really late!
