Alaskan Vacation- Day 1

Brandon and I started our journey to Alaska last night! We boarded our plane to Seattle last night with our amazing friends, Diane and Karen. This was Brandon's first time flying, so he was pretty anxious. My words of advice to him as we were packing was to leave his knife at home. "LEAVE THE KNIFE AT HOME!" So, we were standing in the security line- next up, I looked down at his pocket and saw the knife! Ahhhh- I panicked, grabbed it out of his pocket and threw it in the garbage! He was so mad at me for throwing his $40 knife away, but was it really worth having them take him down, frisk him, and drag him off to jail?! (Okay, so that's probably the worst case scenario, but I'm a think of the worst case scenario kind of girl.) I promised that we would buy him a new one in Alaska, but he can't carry it in his pocket until we get home! Karen also got patted down even-but I think she kind of liked it!

As the plane took off Brandon's knuckles were white, but soon he had a big smile on his face! He was like a little kid touching all the buttons, messing with the seats, and playing with the TV. I think his favorite part was when the pilot announced we were flying over Boise after only being in the air for 15 minutes! (It took us 7 hours to drive there last year.) The landing was a little hard for him, but he took it in stride and said he would definitely fly again! Good thing, since he has to fly to get home!

Today we are headed back to the airport to pick up our rental car. We are driving to Vancouver, British Columbia today. I'm excited because I have heard it's a beautiful drive. Sorry I didn't have any pictures, but I'm pulling out the camera today!
