We left the ship today. I think we waited in line for a taxi for close to an hour. There were 2 cruise ships leaving and 2 arriving, so the port was crazy! We checked into our hotel, which was very nice and close to the Space Needle. We hopped on the monorail and went to downtown. Downtown Seattle is fun, but I can't say it was nice. There were bums everywhere and everything was dirty.
We ended up at my favorite place- Pike's Place. There were cheap flowers galore and the most amazing seafood we have ever seen.
We stopped for lunch at the Athenian, which is where a scene from Sleepless In Seattle was filmed. They had the best fish and chips I have tasted the whole trip!
Seriously, I could have stayed at Pike's Place all day and watched them throw fish around. I tried to get the group to go back the next day, but we didn't have time.
We bought the City Pass that gave us admission to the Seattle Aquarium, a harbor cruise, and 2 admissions to the Space Needle. We even found the famous Gum Wall!
The theme of the day was walk.walk.walk. Ugh, I was so tired and my feet hurt because I was dumb and wore my flip flops. Oh, and I was grouchy. Sorry guys! I really miss my kids and I'm ready to go home. Did I mention I was really grouchy? Well, I was!
