When It Rains It Pours!

Last week I got a call from Brandon while I was at work. He said that Bryn had fallen off the couch and hit her head on the coffee table and it looked pretty bad. I guess I was in denial, so I told him it could wait until I got home. Once I was home and saw her poor little swollen nose I started to panic. We decided that we would wait until morning to check it out and if it didn't look better then we would take her to the doctor. When she woke up the next morning her nose was a dark purple and she had swelling all around her eyes. I reluctantly made the call to the doctor's office and off we went. (I was terrified to take her back in there for fear that they would think that we were doing something to her!) Well, the doctor said it was possible that she had fractured her nose, but couldn't be sure without an X-Ray. He also said that he was concerned about the clear fluid coming out her nose (that I thought was just a runny nose). Then he dropped the bomb on us that it could be cerebral fluid coming out. Oh- panic!! I don't think he told us to scare us, but he wanted to be sure, so he sent us to the hospital for facial X-Ray's. We quickly went to Radiology (which we are very familiar with- pathetic) and took x-rays. A couple hours later they eased our fears by telling us that there was not a fracture and that she should heal fine. Hallelujah!! Her bruise has gone from a nice shade of purple, to green, then yellow, and has now faded away. I have joked that I am going to put her in bubble wrap, but every time she falls down I get more serious about it!

Jen- I am sorry to hear about Bryn. I am glad that Brylee is not mobile yet. Glad everything was okay.
