For anyone that knows me, I hate Valentine's Day and usually call it Disappointment Day. This year, I decided to change my attitude about it and try to make it special for others rather than expect others to make it special for me. I came home from work on Friday and made a special Valentine's dinner for the family (we got to have Lily with us too). I found some cute decorations and balloons to give it that special touch. I even made my own chocolate dipped strawberries! I think the kids had a fun time.
On Saturday, Brandon and I went out for our Valentine Dinner. Brandon called ahead at Ruby River, so we were able to walk right in and get a table. After dinner we went to the mall and saw Mall Cop. It was a cute movie (I know, not too romantic, but we wanted to laugh!) It wasn't as funny as I anticipated, but it was nice to be on a date without the kids.
So, Disappointment Day was truly a Valentine's day this year. I may be changing my mind about the terrible day!
