California- Aunt Marilyn's House

On Saturday night we drove to my Aunt Marilyn's house near San Diego. A few years ago she bought a run down old farmhouse and converted it in to an eclectic cottage that is the perfect retreat!

Spending time with her was the highlight of our trip! We got to wake up to the rooster crowing in the morning. (The neighbor's rooster crowed at 3:00 a.m., which wasn't too fun!)

On Sunday morning we went out to feed the chickens old ice cream cones and I took pictures with the early morning dew. The spider webs looked so neat with the dew.

The kids had fun playing with the dogs, Sampson and Zoe. Sampson is a yellow lab that is about as big as a horse! He loves to cuddle and give kisses like a lap dog!

Zoe LaBelle is Aunt Marilyn's "Little Princess", but she acts more like the "Queen Bee"! We got Zoe when Maddie was 1 year old, but it was too hard to take care of a baby and a puppy, so Aunt Marilyn took her home for us. I think that is where she was meant to be and I'm glad she is happy!

Maddie liked gathering eggs to take home to Brandon and the girls. We made them for dinner/breakfast the other day and they were delicious!

Thanks Aunt Marilyn for letting us stay with you!
