In April we decided to take the girls on a surprise trip to California over part of Spring Break. When I got home from work we loaded the kids in the already packed car and told them we were going for a ride. They gave me a blank stare and then Maddie put it together! She was happy, but a little apprehensive to believe us and the little girls could care less, they were just happy to see TV's in the car! That night we drove to Mesquite and stayed at the Casablanca Hotel. The girls had to put on a little fashion show with their new jammies that were part of the surprise...
The next morning we drove to Vista, California where my Aunt Marilyn lives. She was so kind and let us stay with her during our vacation. She has the cutest little house and yard with chickens, turtles, dogs, kitty, bunnies, and cookoo's (her newest addition is the homing pigeons). Emmy went nuts over all the fresh oranges that she picked every morning. She would wake up as soon as the rooster cock-a-doodle-doo'd and we would go out and find the sweetest oranges possible for a pre-breakfast snack. The first picture is of the night we got there. We raced down to the pier so we could see the sunset- we got there and I snapped this quick picture of the last second of the sun before it went down!
