A couple months ago Brandon announced that he was going to run the Dirty Dash with work. I had never heard of it so we looked up their video on You Tube. It is held at Soldier Hollow and is a 5k run through the mountains. The catch is that they have several mud holes, slides, etc. that they have to navigate through. Being the helpful and supportive wife, when I saw the 5k part I panicked a little bit for him and made sure he understood that 5k is really 3.5 mile... I thought for sure he would back out. Nope. Not Brandon. He saw the mud part and was all in! He had 2 months to train--- did he? Nope!
So, race day was yesterday. Me being the supportive wife, I tagged along to take pictures of his MISERY victory. When we arrived we found out that on the video they failed to show the major hills/mountains that had to be run in order to get to the finish line. With a "good luck (don't die)" he was off! An hour later I saw him walking at a nice pace speeding to the last hill and started snapping away.

When he got to the final mud pool I was so excited to take a picture of him jumping in and splashing mud everywhere. Nope, not Brandon. He was a little wary of all the germs and gunk that was in the mud pool so he gingerly stepped in and made sure not to get a speck of mud on his face. When he finished his quote was "Well, at least I didn't come in last!" I love that man!
