Alaskan Vacation- Day 8

Today we arrived in Ketchikan. It's rainy... really rainy! This was supposed to be our day to go fishing and we aren't going to let a little rain stop us. We found a guy to captain our boat for us while Diane went to the lumberjack show. Luckly, our little boat had a heater, so Karen and I sat inside and played Ticket to Ride while Brandon and the captain watched the lines out on the deck.
Fishing was a bust. Not one bite. Very disappointing! We had a great time though. The captain grew up in Ketchikan and knew where every eagle nest was along the bank, so he would drive up close and whistle while he held a herring above his head. Sure enough, the eagles would come swooping down and take the fish from him.  One eagle did it four times. It would come so close that we could hear the swoosh of its wings. It truly was amazing!
