Emalee is the newest addition to our family. She was our early Christmas present this year. She was born on December 21, 2007 at 8:10 a.m. She weighed 8 lbs. 6 oz. and was 21 inches long. She surprised us with a mop of black silky hair and baby blue eyes! She came home on Christmas Eve. Emmy is our surprise baby that gave me a lot of anxiety, but now I don't know what we would do without her! She has a sweet disposition and rarely cries. She loves to snuggle with me (she likes to grunt and fuss with dad for now) and has been sleeping pretty well considering all the noise and chaos that goes on in our house! There isn't much to write about her yet because all she does is eat, sleep, eat, go to the bathroom, and eat some more. She had gained over a pound her first 2 weeks, which is a little unusual because most babies loose a pound. So, yes, she is growing like a weed and will be grown up, moved out, and married in no time. It seems like that is how fast life is going right now!
A little explanation on her name: We had a difficult time choosing a name this time because it was up to Brandon. I was laying on the operating table and he had gone with the baby to get cleaned up and I still didn't know what her name was. The nurses came in and said, "Oh, Hannah has so much dark hair!" I was so excited because Hannah was the name that I wanted, so I thought that he had really given into me again. When I got into recovery another nurse came in and was talking about "Emily"- which was the name Brandon wanted. I was really confused at this point, when finally my mom came in and said that she really didn't look like a Hannah, that she really looked like an Emily. After I was able to hold her and get to know her I agreed that she was an Emily Hannah. The name problems weren't over yet though. As I sat in the hospital room and looked at her name on the bassinette I just couldn't see that "Emily" was the right way to spell it (I'm a little funny that way)! So, after deliberating for another day we decided that we would spell her name Emalee so that we could call her Ema or Emmy.
Even though she caused us that much grief over her name, we are so happy that she is with us. She has truly completed our family.... for now, if you ask Brandon!

Jennie, What a beautiful baby! And I am so touched that you named her after me ;) Seriously though, all of your girls are looking adorable, I can't believe how quickly they are growing up!
Hurray! I am glad you are on the blog bandwagon. This is making me think that maybe we should be updating ours more often!
Jennie, Wish I would have made it down to see you after you had your baby. Your girls are sooo beautiful. Maddie is so grown up. It just dawned on me that you have a newborn and a Gideon aged child. YOU ARE AMAZING! I would be beside myself. GO SUPERMOM!!!! We are happy for you and Brandon!
